Don't Squeeze The Koran

I along with most of the Muslim world am appalled at the alleged mishandling of the Koran by U.S. military prison guards. I find the very notion of flushing the Koran down a toilet for the purpose of demoralizing Muslim prisoners to be abhorrent. It is a reckless and insensitive act. The Koran is a fairly large text, such a substantial amount of paper would wreak absolute havoc upon the entire prison's plumbing system. Cuba is no place to reside without proper bathroom facilities. Oh yeah, and the Koran is holy too. It's not cool to desecrate something that someone else values as a sacred symbol of who and what they are. It's not as if there are Muslims who condone and encourage the burning of American flags...Uhhhh...well, unless they're really mad at us at the time or they're celebrating a holiday.

I found it abhorrent as well. Now what is that guard going to do, the one who rather unwisely consumed a whole lot of beans.

Me thinks the paper would be better used one at a time. The ideas won't be tarnished, no matter

I agree, the Holy Qur'an should not be flushed down the toilet. Those pages would go to much better use as rolling papers!! ;~D

Fidget: Paper airplanes, perhaps? Or we could all make those funny paper hats and wear them out in public, sticking our hands just inside our lapel a la Napoleon.

Fidget & Warcrygirl - I'm surprised no one has suggested birdcage lining.
